Mary Catherine O'Connor is a Licensed Psychotherapist (LICSW1140943) joining the Healing Space in Orleans, Massachusetts. 

Mary Catherine provides psychotherapy to adults throughout the lifespan who are seeking to heal from relationally based trauma and attachment related issues. She also specializes in providing psychotherapy to adults diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. 

Mary Catherine began her career as a research assistant at Yale University, studying the impacts of attachment focused psychotherapy on mothers who were battling addiction. She graduated from Smith College School for Social work in 2017 and spent the first eight years of her career in California. Throughout her career, Mary Catherine has treated adults within the context of psychiatric inpatient units, county jails, State Hospitals, and community mental health centers. Utilizing her knowledge from these systems, Mary Catherine decided to open her own private practice in 2022. 

Mary Catherine is passionate about helping adults heal from trauma. She is certified in EMDR therapy, and she has received training in attachment focused EMDR therapy. In her practice, she helps her clients not just find relief from their current symptoms but lovingly heal the root causes of their presenting problems.
